2024 Solar Eclipse

A Vincennes University Committee, chaired by Dean Curt Coffman, is planning for eclipse-related activities on the Vincennes campus that day and is coordinating efforts with local and regional partners to ensure an educational and safe experience for all.

In Vincennes and other areas of Indiana, the eclipse will begin just before 2 PM EDT, will reach totality just after 3 PM, and will end prior to 4:30 PM.  

In order to allow all members of the VU community the opportunity to participate in eclipse activities, VU will observe the following schedule on April 8, 2024:

• All offices close at 12:00 noon LOCAL time.
• Employees will be dismissed for the day, except those designated to support essential operations and eclipse activities.
• Classes dismiss at 12:00 noon LOCAL time; no classes will meet after that time on that day.
