The City Council of Vincennes is announcing a national call for artist submissions for an eclipse themed mural on the side of the City Hall in Vincennes, Indiana. Vincennes and Knox County are in the centerline of totality during the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. We will experience 4 minutes and 5 seconds of darkness and anticipate 50,000-100,000 eclipse visitors for that weekend. To commemorate this spectacular event and encourage future eclipse tourism, the City Council of Vincennes is asking for public works to be submitted. The mural will be printed and installed by a local printing company and will hang for approximately 1-2 year(s).
All submissions must be entered by March 8th, 2024.
Jurors will take one week to decide. Winner will be announced on March 15th via email.
